  • Install or (with the Internet Explorer browser) accept the installation of a recent version of the JAVA virtual machine.
  • Either authorize the JAVA applets on this server, signed by Debate...Decide!, or write a policy on your computer (with SUN's policytool). This policy should give these applets access to the folder "DebateDecide", in your home directory (where they will store your secret keys, and your verification codes). Here are sample 'deployment' and 'security/java.policy' file structures to be stored under your home directory in the hidden sub-folder
    Win XP: C:\Documents and Settings\[yourname]\Application Data\Sun\Java\Deployment\
    Vista: C:\Users\[yourname]\AppData\LocalLow\Sun\Java\Deployment\
    MacOS: /Users/[yourname]/Library/Caches/Java/
    Linux: /home/[yourname]/.java/deployment/
    : deployment.properties, security/java.policy, security/debatedecide.certs
For debugging local java configuration use deployment.properties
